September What's In-die Box?

Septembers theme is Spectacular Space! This is the theme I have been most excited for. I am fascinated by all the mysteries of space so to have polish inspired by the unexplored depths of our universe is very exciting for me. With each clue and inspiration picture I became more excited. I love how there are pictures the polishes are inspired by that are shown through out the month. I think about polish almost all the time and I often wonder if I was an indie maker what my polish would look like it if was inspired by that picture.

This months box all of my swatches as topped off with "Quick! Gloss Me Up!" by Peita's Polish.

"Falling Galaxy" by Glam Polish. It is no surprise what creation came from Glam Polish this month, but Rachel can do no wrong when it comes to purple holos. A simply stunning polish as usual. For my swatch I used two coats.

"Luna Lights" by Lilypad Lacquer. This is a beautiful soft grey with gold flakies. It has much more of a shimmer in the sunlight than my camera could capture. In the softened light of my light box you could really see all the gold flakies. I love this polish as a work appropriate, or go any where neutral shade. Two coats for my swatch.

"Solar Flare" by Peita's Polish. This is such a cool colour, with a slightly pearly glittering finish. This was not at all what I was expecting from Peita's Polish. I feel it is quite different from their usual creations, but I actually love this one, especially that amazing colour! I used three thin coats for my swatch.

"Sparkling Supernova" by Two Birds Lacquer. A black jelly base filled with tiny colourful glitters including blue, red, and sliver, with bronze hex.  This was exceptionally had to capture. It also had a very sheer base so I had to use four coats for my swatch. I would like to try this over a solid black base with two coats and see how it turns out then.

"Star Queen Nebula" by Moonstone Nail Polish. A glistening blue base with various blue glitter. Fantastic formula for a polish with lots of litter, it practically applied itself. Two coats for my swatch.

Each month this What's In-die Box? is available from Peita's Polish. For October the theme is Holo-ween featuring all things holo and Halloween. I am almost just as excited for Octobers box as I was for this months box.

Halloween Nail Art featuring Glam Polish

The pre-order for the Glam Polish Cast A Spell Part 2 and Halloween Duo is officially over today! So I have some Halloween nail art featuring shades by Glam Polish.

For this first design I used "Deathly Holo" and "Carrie" with a skull and cross bone nail charm. I love black and red together and I had to have "Deathly Holo" with the skull charm!

You can't have "Frankenslime 2014" with out doing some dripping slime nail art. I used "Black on Black" by Sinful Colors and dripping nail decals from Dead Set Babes. I loved using the nail decals by Dead Set Babes, it made the dripping look so quick and easy!

Next I have a deathly "Elixir" bubbling up out of a cauldron. For the base I used "Elixir" then used acrylic paint to create the bubbles and paint the cauldron. I love how my accent nail with the cauldron turned out!

Last one for now features "Warlock" along with some Jack O'Lanterns. I am not too happy with how this one turned out, but I liked the idea in my head. All the Jack O'Lantern faces are done in acrylic paint, as well as the pumpkin on my ring finger. On my accent nail I also used "Cool Grey" by Sinful Colors and then added some larger glitters and dots using "Warlock" above the pumpkin.

I am planing to do much more Halloween nail art during October, so stay tuned!

NEW AUSSIE INDIE BRAND - Iridescent Nails Getaway Collection

I am happy to share swatches of a new Aussie indie brand today! Iridescent Nails is based in Canberra and run by Trenae. This new brand launches tonight (Sunday 21st of September) at 6pm. The first collection is the Getaway Collection. This collection consists of 5 shimmery shades inspired by some of the best things about a getaway holiday. Some of the polish names even rhyme! There is also a special signature shade that is being released as well as their own top coat. All of my swatches are topped with their Iridescent Nails Top Coat. Overall I was quite impressed with the formulas of these polishes, especially for a new brand that might still be finding their feet.

"Apple Martini" - This is a beautiful shimmery apple green. I found that the first coat was quite sheer but after three thin coats it was nicely opaque.

"Pink Bikini" - I love this bright pink! It also has a fantastic formula. For my swatch I used three thin coats and finished it off with the Iridescent Nails Top Coat.

"Orange Popsicle" - The exact colour of the orange popsicles that I used to have as a kid. Such a beautiful shade of orange with a pearly finish.

"Salior's Delight" - Another great shade in this collection. However, I did find that this one stained a little bit so I recommend a good base coat. For my swatch I used three thin coats plus the Iridescent Nails Top Coat.

"Iridescent" - My personal favourite. This is the signature shade for Iridescent Nails. It is a beautiful pearly white with a strong blue shimmer. For my swatch I used two medium coats along with the Iridescent Nails Top Coat.

Glam Polish Halloween Duo

It's nearly Halloween, that means it it time for a creepy Halloween duo from Glam Polish. I love Halloween. It was my favorite time of year when I lived in America. I think these two polish capture the beautiful and sparkly essence of Halloween.

"Snoopy The Witch" - This is a super cute glitter topper with various white, black, purple, and orange glitter, including some little stars and dots. The purple and orange glitters in this just scream Halloween. I dabbed one coat over "Deathly Holo" by Glam Polish (Exclusive to Mei Mei's and unfortunately already sold out).

I also swatched this one over a soft green called "Earth Angel" by Colour Gossip. I love it over this base as all the colours show up beautifully and the green base fits with the spooky Halloween theme.

"Frakenslime 2014" - A recreation of the very popular "Frakenslime" from last years Halloween polishes. My favourite thing about this one is that it has the same theme as the one from last year but has evolved in the same way that the Glam Polishes have evolved over the past year. Over the past year there has been a strong focus on more holographic polishes. This special Halloween still has the same colour concepts from last year but now holographic! I love the purple glitter in the green base. I would love to see more holo shades but with different coloured glitters in it like this one. For my swatch I used three thin coats plus a glossy top coat.
