Melbourne Cup Carnival 2014 Collection by LYZ Cosmetics

Get ready for the races with these Melbourne Cup inspired polishes from LYZ Cosmetics! There are 5 unique polishes in this collection and it is now available from their Etsy shop.

"Lucky Lucky Lily" - a subtle medium to light pink thermal with fine silver glitter and pearl shimmer. This is such a pretty pink girly polish! For my swatch I used three thin coats plus a glossy top coat.

LYZ Cosmetics also has a selection of cute nail charms, including this galloping horse. Perfect for all the horse lovers (that includes me!).

"Showstopper Topper" - A chunky glitter topper with blue and purple dots, blue bar glitter, and tiny pink glitters. I dabbed one coat over "Lucky Lucky Lily" for a cute and sparkly combination. I had not trouble at all with the large dot glitter and they applied beautifully.

"Maine of the Show" - A bight red jelly with a subtle thermal change. This squishy polish includes stars and squares, as well as pink glitters. This one was my favourite from the collection. It had a great formula and application. I used three coats plus a glossy top coat.

"Run Horses, Run!" - A bright golden yellow with pearl shimmer. This one had such a pretty shimmer in the sunlight. At first this one seemed a bit sheer but after three coats it had reached a nice opacity.

"I Heirby Win The Race" - A major glitter bomb including pink, blue, and silver glitter in a clear base. For my swatch I used three coats and a glossy top coat. It didn't get too thick and clumpy while applying, so I was able to get full coverage in three thin coats.

Powder Perfect 2014 Christmas Collection

I finally have my post on Powder Perfect's 2014 Christmas Collection. This collection was released last Friday so it is now available! This collection has 7 amazing polishes, including some very Christmasy polishes, and some that are great to wear all year round!

"The Stars are Brightly Shinning" - A stunning sliver glitter polish that sparkles in all lighting! For a polish that is so densely packed with glitter it had a really good application. I used about 2-3 coats depending on thickness. It was fairly smooth even without a top coat, but I did use a glossy top coat anyway.

"Candy Canes and Silver Lanes Aglow" - An adorable glitter topper that is like glistening candy canes that have be crushed into a polish. I dabbed one coat over "The Stars are Brightly Shinning" and added a glossy top coat to seal it all in. I am thinking that I have my mani for Christmas all sorted. I love this combination.

"What is it with you and Xmas Trees?" - A bottle Christmas tree! This cute polish contains a mix of glitters including green bar glitter and brightly coloured dots in a green crelly base. I used three thin coats for my swatch and a glossy top coat.

"Christmas in a Tropical Climate" - A full on gold glitter polish. Similar to "The Stars are Brightly Shinning" this has an excellent formula for a polish that has so much glitter in it. Again, I used two to three coats depending on the thickness and finished it off with a glossy top coat.

"Prettiest Sight To See" - A beautiful combination of pink and purple glitters in a white crelly base. I love this polish, and it is even a fantastic polish to wear if it isn't Christmas time. For my swatch I used three thin coats and a glossy top coat to smooth everything out.

"Beginning To Look A Lot Like Xmas" - Another fantastic glitter polish, but even better... It's red! This one is really pretty and has some darker glitters among the bright red glitters. I used three coats for my swatch and a glossy top coat to seal it all in.

"Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal" - My personal favourite from the collection, because it is a dark glittery red! Another fantastic glitter formula. This one even appears to have a bit of a blue sparkle in among the red glittery goodness. Three coats and a glossy top coat for my swatch.
